Prior to joining Kasamar, Sami was the Chief Strategy Officer and Director of Investor Relations of the Al Noor Hospitals Group from January 2011 to March 2016. His primary responsibilities included corporate strategy, business development, and M&A. He carried out four acquisitions including that of the Gulf International Cancer Center. Additionally, Sami was one of two executives in Al Noor that played a key role in the company’s IPO (USD 1.0Bn valuation) in June 2013 and one of three that played a key role in its reverse merger with Mediclinic International (USD 10Bn valuation) in February 2016.
In addition to his role at Kasamar, Sami has served since 2012 as Adjunct Assistant Professor at the College of Medicine and Health Sciences, UAE University. He previously served as a member of the Health Sector committee of the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce.
Prior to Al Noor, Sami worked at The Johns Hopkins Hospital Department of Perioperative Services and Department of Anaesthesia and Critical Care Medicine as a Senior Data Analyst, and prior to that he was a post-doctoral fellow at the Tissue Microfabrication Lab at the University of Pennsylvania.
Sami received his PhD in Biomedical Engineering from The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine where his thesis focused on researching stem cells. He also holds a MPH, MBA, and a BS in Biomedical Engineering from Johns Hopkins.

OLIVER PARKER

Oliver joined Kasamar in 2018 and is a Vice President in Kasamar’s private equity team. Oliver manages Kasamar’s private equity portfolio and partners with portfolio companies throughout the lifetime of the investment.
Prior to joining Kasamar, Oliver worked at Clermont Holdings where he was a Vice President in the private equity team. At Clermont, Oliver held board seats on multiple investments as well as managing the reporting of financial performance across the full private equity portfolio with a valuation in excess of US$ 1 Billion.
Oliver graduated from the University of Bristol with a BSc in Mathematics and Economics. He started his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers, qualifying as a chartered accountant and specialising in M&A advisory, advising clients on both buy side and sell side transactions from the PwC offices in London and Dubai.

Mo is currently a Director at Kasamar Holding, focusing on the private equity and real estate verticals. Prior to joining Kasamar, Mo was the founder of Odyssey Ventures, raising and managing the first regional search fund that targeted acquiring and operating regional SME’s in need of growth capital.
Mo has spent over 6 years at Gulf Capital, one of the leading mid-market alternative investments firms, based in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Mo was part of the Private Equity Group, where he focused on identifying, conducting diligence and negotiating acquisition targets, followed by post-acquisition management. Mo led a series of refinancing and dividend recapitalizations of more than USD 1Bn, took Gulf Marine Services public on the London Stock Exchange, and held observer board and committee seats for portfolio companies.
Prior to his tenure at Gulf Capital, Mo held numerous roles including an associate role at a technology venture capital fund, Southeast Interactive Technology Funds, based in Raleigh, NC. Mo also has experience working in the defense technology sector at Raytheon, as a member of the algorithms team for NATO’s air defense system and as a member of the user interface team for the US Navy’s next generation destroyer.
Mo received his B.Sc. in Computer Science from the University of California, Irvine in 2002 and received his M.B.A. from Duke University, with a dual concentration in Finance and Strategy in 2008. Mo is involved with Duke’s recruiting efforts in the Middle East and sits on the regional Board of Advisors for Duke University’s School of Business.

Dr. Kassem founded the Al Noor Hospitals Group in 1985, having previously run his private internal medicine and gastroenterology clinic, which he started upon his arrival in Abu Dhabi in 1978. Over time, Al Noor grew to become the premier and largest private healthcare provider in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. In June 2013, Al Noor was listed on the premium segment of the London Stock Exchange and was included in the FTSE 250 shortly thereafter. Having successfully transitioned the company from a family business to a corporation, Dr. Kassem stepped down as CEO after 29 years to become the Deputy Chairman of the company in October 2014. In February 2016, Al Noor completed a reverse merger with Mediclinic International to create a FTSE 100 company and the third largest hospital group in the world outside of the US.
Dr. Kassem currently sits on the UAE Ministry of Health Supreme Council. Previously, he was a Board Member of the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce where he also chaired the health sector committee.
Dr. Kassem holds a MBBS from the University of Seville and specialized in internal medicine and gastroenterology at the University of Madrid. Additionally, he is a fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine in London.
